In the latest of my series of articles on tantric massage, today I’ll be tackling testicular massage. Alongside prostate massage, it is a form of erotic massage that a man can perform on himself. This sets it apart from lingham and yoni massage, which are generally carried out by a practitioner or partner.

A much neglected area of the male body, the testicles are still an erogenous zone. Hence they should be treated as such, and given some attention.

Testicle massage is a holistic technique. This means that it benefits the whole (whole-istic) person. In a world where doctors are churning out more and more pill prescriptions, holistic practices are increasingly important. They form a center point for functional medicine, which tackles root causes of health concerns, instead of simply treating symptoms with medicines.

But despite the fact that functional medicine is a fairly modern idea, ballsack massage is anything but. Tantrikas – followers of the ancient tradition of Taoism – have been practicing this massage technique for thousands of years.

And when it comes to sexual health practices, the Tantrikas knew what they were talking about. Long before science could begin to confirm it, they were talking of the massive benefits of sexual practices, especially massage.

As with tantric massage, the Tantrikas considered testicle massage to be one of the keys to overall health, vitality and wellbeing. They broke down the status of male sexual health as being dependent on three main factors:

  • The function of your kidneys
  • The circulation of sexual energy
  • The abundance (or non-abundance) of sex hormones

The second and third factors – circulation of sexual energy and abundance of sex hormones, are directly impacted by testicle massage.

  • Fewer spontaneous erections, such as during sleep or first thing in the morning

And the list goes on. Clearly, the Tantrikas knew what they were talking about. In order to live with vitality and vigor, it is vital to maintain healthy testosterone production.

Whatsmore, modern-day science is now backing up the efficacy of testicle massage for keeping a healthy testosterone level. This study, albeit slightly clinical in language and methodology, confirms an increase in testosterone production of around 17%, after compression (massage) of the testicles.

Much of my previous writing has touched upon the problem of sexual shame. Most people are walking around with a great deal of shame related to their genitals. Whatsmore, this sexual shame is mostly unconscious. Meaning, we do not even know that we are carrying it.

Sexual shame can hinder our sex life and enjoyment of life overall. Self-love begins at an anatomical level. As men, we need to release the shame handed down to us (without our permission) from our parents, and learn to love our cock and balls.

Masculinity, femininity and polarity

When we do, we attain higher levels of sexual confidence, and a strengthened masculine identity. A more sexually confident man knows how to please a girl in bed. And I am ALWAYS stressing the importance of being a more masculine man.

This comes down to polarity. A man who is in his masculine will attract a woman who is in her feminine. Or, if he is already with a partner, his masculine energy will push her further into her feminine energy.

Increasing polarity brings harmony and balance to any relationship. It also causes intimacy issues to fall away. Polarity is one of the fundamental laws of nature. We must work within it. Releasing sexual shame via testicle massage is a wonderful, accessible way of doing so.

A large proportion of men masturbate extremely aggressively, and to porn. We are living in a society where porn addiction is seen as the norm, and is totally socially acceptable. It is a commonly experienced phenomenon amongst those who practice tantra that when you are hovering just below the point of orgasm, barely ANY stimulation is needed at all, and this is when we feel the biggest energetical current. Sexual energy circulates from head to toe and we are flooded by ecstasy. We can remain in this state for hours.

If the above feels like a far-off dream to you, you may lack penis sensitivity. This makes the testicle massage technique I am about to outline, even more crucial.

Testicle massage: a step-by-step guide

Below, are the steps outlined for the ballsack self-massage.

Step 1. Lube up

Get hold of some high-quality, natural oil. I suggest organic, extra virgin coconut oil.

Rub between your hands to generate a little heat. Then generously apply to the whole area – testicles, scrotum and perineum.

Step 2. Scrotal trigger points

This is not just a testicle massage. It is a scrotum massage too.

Once you are greased up, you’re ready to start massaging. Begin with the trigger points around the scrotum. Come right in to the spot between the anus and the scrotum – the perineum.

This is an area that doesn’t tend to get much attention. If any at all. Warm it up and give it some love.

You can also press on and around the perineum, which stimulates the prostate from the outside. This is beneficial for prostate health, too!

Step 3. Pulling on the testicles

Next, pull on the testicles, in all directions.

Straight out, left, right, up and down. Don’t go crazy. Be gentle.

You might feel a little pain at some point. If and when you do, you need to go more towards the root. Pain occurs because you are pulling on the testicles themselves.

Step 4. Cup your balls

In this step, use one hand to hold your balls in place.

With the palm of your free hand, cup your testicles and move your hand around in circular motions. This should feel very pleasurable.

Switch directions and continue like this for 1-2 minutes.

Step 5. Massaging the testicles

In this step, take one testicle at a time. Hold it between your thumb and first finger and middle finger. Squeeze and massage slowly. Again, use circular motions and be gentle.

If you come across any grainy or lumpy parts, focus on those areas. Likewise if you feel pain, focus on the area where you feel the pain. Pain is a clear sign that something has been blocked. Massaging in this way several days in a row will remove the blockage, and the pain should go away.

Once you have massaged both your left testicle and right testicle, move downwards to the tubes that attach to your penis. These are the tubes that carry sperm. They can also become blocked and thus also need massaging regularly.

Step 6. Tapping

This is the last step in the testicle massage. Hold your penis at the base and gently tap on your testicles. Allow them to swing back and forth. This is what they did all day long until human beings started shoving their balls into tight underpants..!
